When Captain Will Turner returns from the Netherworld ten years later, the once-decaying ship has been transformed back into an elegant galleon which was seen to start occuring right after the Dutchman resurfaced when Will took command, with its baracles falling off as the curse on it and its crew (caused by Jones' abandonment of his duties) was broken, causing ship and crew to return to normal. The only way for the curse to be broken was for Jones to resume his duties or someone to kill him and take over as the new captain. It was transformed into a barnacled, decaying ship with a monstrous crew as a result of Jones abandoning his duty to ferry souls to the next life. The Flying Dutchman' has powerful armaments, consisting of rotating tri-barreled guns capable of repeating fire.Дespite its immortality, the Dutchman could be damaged as seen when it battled the Black Pearl. Afterwards, he either recruits dying survivors for his crew or executes them, dumping their bodies in the sea.
